Tanja achieved her Advanced Certificate in Veterinary Nursing from Box Hill Institute of TAFE in 1990 after joining Bundoora Veterinary Clinic in 1987.
Tanja had a break away from Victoria in 1989 to work in Cairns at Marlin Coast Vet Clinic where she trained in the care and treatment of wildlife in the local sanctuaries. This included crocodile surgeries as well as veterinary care of other reptiles, cassowaries, bats and many other animals. During this time Tanja learnt a lot and has carried this experience on to her day to day nursing and passion for wildlife nursing and care.
Tanja continues to enjoy rehabilitating and caring for Australian wildlife and with the support of her family has obtained a diploma in the Zoology, Nursing and Management of Australian Wildlife. Tanja currently runs a registered Wildlife Shelter in Pheasant Creek where her main aim is to rehabilitate orphaned joeys for release back into the wild.
She loves spending quality time with her very supportive husband Paul and gorgeous son Aidan.
